We are a not for profit 501(c)(3) organization that promotes low brass music through hosting a summer Tuba-Euphonium ensemble (Rockford Kontraband), hosting a Rockford TUBACHRISTMAS, and running a Recital Series for adults and students!

The Rockford Illinois Kontraband is a summer tuba euphonium ensemble started by Dennis Meacham. This ensemble hopes to bring young low brass players and more seasoned musicians together to grow, learn, and explore the capabilities of our instrument as a community.
TUBACHRISTMAS came back to Rockford Illinois in 2025, it was the first time we have hosted one since 2019. As our first year back we had over 30 participants ranging from young middle school players all the way to retired musicians who still enjoying performing. We are hoping to make this a yearly tradition.
Donations
Like all non-profits we need the support and donations from the community to keep ourselves up and running. Donations allow us to purchase music, commission new works, and purchase equipment. All donations go directly towards the ensembles and mission. No board members or performers are paid, allowing donations to go even further!
